your first float

Before you take your first float there are several things for you to consider. In a starlight, peaceful environment, you will be floating in 10 inches of clean, comfortable, body temperature water – infused with over 1200 lbs of healing epsom salts, creating the feeling of floating weightlessly in space. Your experience will depend on your state of mind and expectations.

Reactions have ranged from euphoria to boredom; the most common response is deep relaxation. Generally, much of the first float is spent getting used to this new environment.

We welcome you to come back to the world with ease in our Recovery Lounge or Lobby after your float. This gentle transition back to the outside world is very important to gain the maximum benefit from your float. Just rushing out immediately will burn off many benefits before your nervous system has had a chance to integrate them – so a quiet sit is well worth it! It does take three floats to really begin to get the most out of floating. Each float is a new and different experience that can be quite different from your first. We encourage you to spend your rest time enjoying water, tea, or one of our WellBar beverages and journaling about your experience in our Salt + Light Sharing Journal. There is always an experienced member of our staff available to answer any questions.

…just keep floating

Each time you enjoy our float suite, your mind and body respond more easily and more powerfully to the float. Relaxation is more immediate and much deeper = a better float with improved results. You become familiar with the people, procedure, and environment so you feel more relaxed and comfortable from the beginning to end of your experience. The more you float, there is an accumulative effect of previous floats as you gradually clear away more stress and learn to relax your mind and you begin to feel better, for longer periods of time. One favor you can do for yourself…please don’t compare yourself with friends. Expecting to have exactly the same float experience as someone you know, you may feel disappointed if you’re experience wasn’t as great. Everyone can have a wonderful float, it just may not happen the first time. It can take a little longer for some of us. Everybody is different, we aren’t all equally receptive to start with, and have different levels of initial resistance. So, if your first float wasn’t as good as someone else’s first float, please give yourself a chance. It is not a competition, allow for your individuality. The great float is coming soon.
